The indictment has been sent to court regarding a resident of Cherkasy who, in exchange for a bribe, attempted to assist in the illegal transportation of men across the border to evade mobilization. This information was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The suspect is charged with receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing a person authorized to make decisions on behalf of the state and for the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine in order to evade conscription during mobilization, for a special period (Part 2 of Article 369-2, Part 1 of Article 332, Part 5 of Article 27, and Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the woman, being aware of the restrictions on the departure of male Ukrainian citizens across the border during a state of war, received an unlawful benefit of $2,000 from a local resident of conscription age at the end of May 2023 for the preparation of medical documents that would serve as the basis for obtaining a disability status. This status would allow crossing the state border of Ukraine and evading conscription into military service during mobilization, for a special period.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal case was conducted by the investigators of the Cherkasy District Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region.

Note: According to Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the punishment can range from a fine of two to five thousand five hundred non-taxable minimum incomes, or imprisonment for a term of two to five years. Part 1 of Article 332 prescribes a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to five years. Article 336 prescribes a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
