The police in Dnipropetrovsk region have exposed a group of individuals who, for a certain sum of money, were issuing medical certificates to evade military service. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
During the investigation, it was established that a medical worker from one of the district hospitals systematically demanded money from men of conscription age in exchange for assisting in the issuance of the necessary documents to evade military service.
The suspect, through her connections, arranged for fictitious diagnoses of patients. In one case, there were even plans to include information about a supposed surgery in the medical records. The relevant entries in the medical file were used as the basis for declaring the men unfit for military service.
The woman involved her cohabitant, medical personnel from the local hospital, and law enforcement officers in this illegal activity. The cost of the service amounted to $13,000.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the residences and in the vehicles of those involved in the scheme, as well as at the local hospital. They seized three thousand US dollars received as part of illegal gains, over 200,000 UAH, documents, and mobile phones.
Previously, the police documented that the hospital employee received an additional two thousand US dollars from a citizen as an advance payment for assistance in obtaining a second-degree disability status, followed by removal from military registration.
The organizer, her cohabitant, and the law enforcement officer have been detained, and they have also been informed of the suspicions against them.
The article provides for a penalty in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
