Russian occupation forces have attacked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, on the evening of August 22, the Russians launched a drone attack on Nikopol, and after midnight on August 23, they shelled the area with heavy artillery. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and the extent of damage caused by Russian projectiles is currently being assessed.
In other areas of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, there were no reported shelling incidents.
It's important to note that on August 23, Russian forces also attacked Odesa Oblast, causing damage to a production and reloading complex in Podunav'ye, including warehouse and administrative buildings. An investigation has been initiated into the attack under Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
Overall, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, during the day on August 22, the enemy conducted four missile and 58 aviation strikes, as well as fired 60 MLRS rockets at Ukrainian positions and various populated areas. Unfortunately, these Russian terrorist attacks resulted in casualties among civilians and damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
During the same period, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out 111 aviation strikes on enemy troop concentrations and two strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian rocket and artillery forces also inflicted damage on three enemy troop concentrations, as well as arms and military equipment depots, a command post, an artillery system in a firing position, and a thermobaric artillery system.
