Criminal case opened against head of Odesa regional military commissariat

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations have initiated a criminal investigation into the abuse of office by the head of the Odessa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center during mobilization events. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations.

According to the State Bureau of Investigations, the head of the Odessa Regional Center gave instructions to subordinates not to call up certain individuals in exchange for a "reward."

The State Bureau of Investigations has opened a criminal investigation into the abuse of official position by a public servant during a time of war (Article 426-1, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The article prescribes punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment.

The head of the Odessa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center has been suspended from performing his official duties.

Additionally, the State Bureau of Investigations mentioned that they are investigating reports in the media regarding the disproportionate wealth of the public servant's family.
