The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has blocked an illegal scheme involving the supply of critical export goods to Russia in Poltava region. According to the SBU press service, the scheme was orchestrated by the head of a local diamond tool manufacturing company and his accomplice, who has a business under Russian control. The individuals had established a mechanism for covertly transporting products that were also used by enterprises in the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country.
Among the recipients of the goods were representatives of the Kursk Electric Apparatus Plant, where the equipment was sent for the production of energy protection systems for military maritime fleet facilities in Russia. The culprits also had dealings with the Moscow-based enterprise "NPP Tory," which manufactures components for Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense missile systems.
As a result of comprehensive measures, SSU officers prevented the export of over 100 units of the new batch of goods to Russia. According to the investigation, to implement the scheme, the culprits initially sent the products to their accomplices in one of the South Caucasus countries. From there, the "parcels" were forwarded to the address of a commercial structure controlled by them in Russia.
During searches conducted at the production and office premises of the culprits, investigators found documents containing evidence of criminal activities, seals of Russian companies controlled by the culprits involved in the sale of products in Russia, and combat supplies for Kalashnikov rifles. Both perpetrators have been informed of their suspicion under Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activities), and the director of the company is additionally suspected under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives).
The issue of selecting a preventive measure is currently under consideration.
