Poltava without hot water for an indefinite period: what is the reason?

Starting from September 9, 2023, all consumers of "Poltavateploenergo" have had their hot water supply suspended due to the lack of a contract between the company and LLC "Naftogaz Trading." This information was provided by the municipal enterprise's press service. On August 30, 2023, "Poltavateploenergo" sent a contract to LLC "Naftogaz Trading" for the supply of natural gas to the cities of Poltava, Kremenchuk, Karlivka, Reshetilivka, and the villages of Mashivka and Kotelva. However, for reasons independent of the enterprise, the contract has not been signed up to this point. Therefore, due to the absence of a natural gas supplier, "Poltavateploenergo" was included in the list for disconnection. However, social infrastructure objects in Poltava, including the maternity hospital, geriatric house, rehabilitation hospital, and the regional clinical hospital, will continue to receive hot water supply.

On Naftogaz's page, it is reported that Naftogaz Trading, which the Cabinet of Ministers entrusted with the special responsibilities of natural gas supply, is currently intensively working on signing contracts. Its head, Serhiy Bielayev, mentions that the process is actively ongoing, and consultants are working with regions to provide all necessary information on the contract signing mechanism.

"Contracts for the supply of gas have already been concluded with the vast majority of the most energy-intensive enterprises. However, work is ongoing with others. We also call on those district heating companies that have not yet submitted the documents for contract formalization to do so as soon as possible," urged Serhiy Bielayev.
