The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has gathered substantial evidence of guilt against another agent of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). This agent was tasked with adjusting Russian air strikes on Kropyvnytskyi. According to the SSU's statement, under the direction of the Russian special services, the agent was supposed to install a GPS tracker near one of the transformer substations in the regional center.
The occupiers intended to adjust a missile strike on a Ukrainian energy facility based on the signals from this "beacon." The SSU apprehended the agent at the end of January 2023 while he was installing the "GPS navigator" at a municipal electric substation.
Based on the evidence gathered by Ukrainian security services, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with property confiscation. It was determined by investigators that this individual, who was recruited by the FSB remotely, is a local resident and held pro-Kremlin views, which he had shared with those around him.
The court found the perpetrator guilty of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to state treason committed during a state of war.
