The Security Service (SSU) has detained another Russian agent as a result of counterintelligence operations in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. This information was reported by the agency's press service.
At the direction of the FSB, this agent was collecting intelligence on the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces deployments in the areas of Dnipro, Kamyanske, and Novomoskovsk.
His primary task was to gather information about military training grounds and centers where Ukrainian military units receive training in preparation for potential deployments to the front lines.
He primarily attempted to ascertain the approximate number of personnel and military equipment in Ukrainian forces that are being prepared for potential deployments.
For each task completed, the traitor received a monetary "reward" from his FSB handler, which was deposited into the informant's bank card.
According to the investigation, this enemy collaborator is a 42-year-old local resident who was remotely recruited by the Russian special services two months ago and was assigned the operational pseudonym "Geralt."
He came to the attention of the aggressor due to his repeated anti-Ukrainian comments in one of the pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
To fulfill the FSB's assignments, the traitor independently accessed the locations and covertly monitored the deployment areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
To maintain secrecy, the Russian agent created several anonymous accounts on "Telegram" through which he transmitted intelligence to the aggressor. During a search at his place of residence, a mobile phone and computer with evidence of criminal activity were found.
SSU investigators have informed him of suspicion under Article 111, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under wartime conditions).
He is currently in custody, and he could face life imprisonment. It's worth mentioning that in Vinnytsia, a man was detained for recruiting Ukrainian citizens into the Russian PMC "Wagner," which is fighting against our country.
