The SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) has apprehended another FSB (Federal Security Service) agent who was involved in planning a new Russian aerial attack on Vinnytsia. This information was reported on the SSU Ukraine's official page.

This hostile agent received his assignment from Russian special services at the beginning of June this year. In order to carry out the task, the criminal would daily patrol the streets of the regional center, covertly documenting the locations, deployment, and movements of Ukrainian Defense Forces. His primary objective was to identify areas with the highest concentration of military equipment and heavy weaponry units preparing for possible deployment to the front.

Additionally, the Russian agent conducted reconnaissance of the areas surrounding industrial facilities to assess their security levels and the presence of Ukrainian defenders. Furthermore, the suspect provided occupiers with information about the priority targets for Russian airstrikes using cruise or ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.

However, SSU operatives acted proactively, successfully uncovering the FSB agent, documenting his criminal actions, and apprehending him while he was carrying out the enemy's task.

According to the investigation, the traitor is a 30-year-old resident of Vinnytsia, who supported Russia's armed aggression due to his pro-Kremlin views. His alignment with pro-Kremlin sentiments brought him to the attention of the FSB, which remotely recruited him for espionage and subversive activities against Ukraine.

Per the "instructions" of Russian special services, the traitor was supposed to provide them with intelligence information in the form of electronic maps and photographs. During the search, the detainee's mobile phone, which he used for performing hostile tasks, was discovered.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU investigators informed the suspect of the charges under Article 111, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed in wartime). He is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces the possibility of life imprisonment.

The special operation was conducted by SSU agents in Vinnytsia Oblast under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
