Police seize weapons cache from man in Cherkasy region

During preventive measures conducted by the police in the city of Zolotonosha, located in Cherkasy region, they noticed a 58-year-old resident of the village of Stary Kovrai, who was allegedly involved in illegal activities. The law enforcement officers conducted an authorized search at the suspect's place of residence and discovered and confiscated a revolver, four pistols with magazines for each, ammunition, and additional magazines.

The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He was also charged with a criminal offense, and the seized evidence was sent for examination.

Regarding this incident, the Zolotonosha District Police Department has initiated a criminal case under Article 263, Part 1 (Illegal Handling of Weapons, Ammunition, or Explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The article's sanction includes a prison term ranging from three to seven years. The investigation is ongoing.
