Ex-convict convicted of drug dealing in Dnipro

The court, based on the public accusation from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, found the former law enforcement officer from Novomoskovsk guilty of the illegal acquisition, possession, and sale of psychotropic substances and highly dangerous narcotic drugs. He has been sentenced to nine years of imprisonment with property confiscation.

Prosecutors argued in court that the former law enforcement officer had established a drug distribution network for cannabis and methamphetamine within the territory of Dnipro. He received drug orders through the Telegram messenger app, and the payments for the narcotics were in cash.

In June 2022, prosecutors, in collaboration with investigators from the territorial branch of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Poltava, exposed the drug dealer. During searches at the place of his residence and in his car, more than 200 grams of psychotropic substances and narcotics were seized.

During the court proceedings, the man did not admit his guilt. The verdict is not yet legally binding, and the man will remain in custody pending the outcome of the appeal period.
