In Dnipro, several facilities under the jurisdiction of the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Dnipro City Council were affected due to an enemy rocket strike on May 26. Dnipro Athletics stadium suffered significant damage. Ksenia Sushko, the Deputy Mayor and Director of the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the city council, mentioned that all the windows in the old sports hall building on the stadium premises were shattered, and the frames were damaged. They have already removed most of the debris and are currently taking measurements for the installation of new windows. There is a reconstruction project for the damaged building, and a decision will be made soon on whether the windows will be replaced as part of this project or separately.
Valeriy Shylo, the Director of the Municipal Enterprise "Water Sports Complex," reported that the building at the stadium housing their facilities also sustained damage. They had a significant amount of broken glass and dust, but fortunately, none of their employees were injured. They conducted extensive cleanup over the weekend. Three schools were also affected, with 104 windows damaged, as well as three kindergartens with 11 windows broken. In one of the kindergartens, a piece of slate punctured a roof sheet. Additionally, damage was recorded in the building of the educational section, workshops, and the canteen of the Dnipro Professional Railway Lyceum, where 185 windows were broken.
The school director, Olga, stated that there were 52 windows shattered in the school due to the shockwave. The response from the Department of Humanitarian Policy was immediate. Their technical staff measured the broken windows and quickly sealed them with film. During the weekend, in collaboration with the school staff, they cleaned the classrooms and the yard.
The situation in Dnipro following the rocket strike on May 26 caused significant damage to various educational and sports facilities, and efforts are underway to assess and repair the affected areas.
