A spy agent was caught near Kharkiv, who wants to znestrumit 5 regions of Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has exposed another FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) agent in a multi-stage special operation across different regions of Ukraine. This agent was tasked by the aggressor to gather information about the locations of key electrical substations on the territories of Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. This information was reported by the SSU's press service.

Furthermore, the Russian agent was providing information to the occupiers about the approximate voltage of energy facilities and their damage levels after enemy shelling. This intelligence was needed by the aggressor to prepare for new and repeated air strikes on the electric substations in order to completely disrupt the power supply to five regions of Ukraine.

The SSU's military counterintelligence apprehended the perpetrator in Kharkiv while he was carrying out espionage tasks for the FSB.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice was a government official within a regional division of the company "Ukrenergo." He was leading a group responsible for optimizing and calculating energy loss.

It has been determined that the Russian special services recruited him well in advance of the full-scale invasion, keeping him in a "sleeper" mode. After February 24, 2022, the FSB "activated" their agent and assigned him tasks related to intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine.

For communication, they employed pre-established secure electronic channels. The traitor passed the acquired information to the occupiers through an intermediary who was situated in temporarily occupied Horlivka.

During searches at the detainee's place of residence, a mobile phone, laptop, and tablet with evidence of criminal activities were discovered.

The SSU investigators have informed him of the suspicion of committing state treason under Article 28, Part 2, and Article 111, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to state treason committed in the conditions of a state of war.
