In Odesa, a tractor driver ran over a child: details of the tragedy

In the village of Berezivka, Odessa region, a 38-year-old tractor driver accidentally struck a 14-year-old girl with the bucket while driving along the road. The incident was reported by the Odessa Regional Police.

The event occurred today, June 23, at twelve o'clock noon on Parkova Street. According to the man, he did not notice the child.

The injured girl was taken to the city hospital, where she unfortunately passed away from her injuries.

The driver was tested for alcohol intoxication, and he was found to be sober.

At the scene, an investigative and operational group from the Road Traffic Accident Investigation Department of the National Police in the Odessa region is working, along with local police investigators. Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 (violation of road safety or vehicle operation rules by persons operating vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Law enforcement authorities are in the process of establishing all the circumstances of the road traffic accident.
