During the investigation of the circumstances of an administrative offense, a 61-year-old man took the wheel of a vehicle and drove into a law enforcement officer. This incident occurred on May 23rd, as reported by the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk region police.
To document the crime, officers from the police department No. 4 of the Krivoy Rog Regional Police Department were called to the scene. They found that on May 23rd, patrol police inspectors encountered a "Chevrolet" car obstructing the movement of other vehicles.
"During a conversation with the patrol officers, the driver got into the car and ran over a police officer who was performing his official duties. The law enforcement officer sustained bodily injuries," the statement reads.
The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He was served with a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense, as provided for in Part 2 of Article 345 (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of applying preventive measures to him is currently being resolved.
