The enemy shelled Nikopol in the morning of May 23: consequences

On May 23, Russian occupiers shelled the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Civilian infrastructure was damaged in the attack. This was reported by the Mayor of Nikopol, Alexander Sayuk.

"In the morning, Russian forces once again shelled Nikopol. Fortunately, people are unharmed. The attack caused damage to the buildings of a hotel complex, 6 private residential houses, 4 utility buildings, and a gas pipeline. One utility structure was completely destroyed as a result of the shelling," the statement reads.

The local police have documented the shelling of the city of Nikopol, the Marganets community, and the Myrivska community. They are working to determine all the consequences of the Russian attacks.

"On May 23, enemy artillery targeted Nikopol and two villages within the community. The most significant damage was inflicted on the district center. Civil infrastructure objects have been damaged, including a non-operational café-hotel building, private houses, utility buildings, and gas supply lines. One utility structure was completely destroyed," the statement further noted.

Fortunately, the communities of Myrivska and Marganetska have not suffered any damage.

The police are actively working at the scenes of the impacts and collecting material evidence of the crimes committed by the aggressors in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
