He did not get in touch for two days: a murdered man was found in an apartment in Nikopol

In Nikopol, during an altercation, a 42-year-old local resident beat a man to death. The police were alerted by the neighbors when the victim had not been in contact for several days. This information was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Police.

On May 19, a concerned neighbor called the emergency line 102 to report that the lights had been on in the neighbor's apartment for an extended period, but he had not been in contact for several days. Police officers arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a 65-year-old man in the room with multiple physical injuries. A forensic examination was appointed by investigators.

Operatives from the Nikopol District Police Department began searching for the attacker and determined that a 42-year-old local resident was involved in the crime. On May 16, around 5:00 PM, the two men were at the victim's place of residence. They got into an argument during which the assailant beat the acquaintance. The victim succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

On May 20, investigators informed the attacker of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, as defined in Part 2 of Article 121 (intentional grievous bodily harm leading to the death of the victim). The maximum penalty for this crime is up to 10 years of imprisonment.
