Two law enforcement officers suspected of raping a minor were released in Cherkasy

Two law enforcement officers in Cherkasy, who are suspected of committing a crime against a minor, have been dismissed from the police force. The individuals involved are in custody, while their immediate superiors have been suspended from their official duties.

This information was reported by the Cherkasy Regional Police. On May 6, a resident of Cherkasy filed a complaint with the police about a sexual offense involving her 17-year-old daughter. During the investigation, it was discovered that two police officers were likely involved in committing the criminal offense. The incident was promptly reported to the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).

The suspects were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations informed them of the charges.

The Cherkasy Regional Police's Internal Security and the National Police's Main Inspection are conducting an internal investigation, and the findings will be promptly forwarded to the DBR and included in the criminal case materials.

The two police officers under suspicion have been dismissed from the police force, and their immediate superiors have been suspended from their official duties.
