In the Tomashpil community in Vinnytsia region, an updated day center for social and psychological assistance has been opened. This center began its operation in 2021, initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, through state subsidies.
The center has been equipped with a psychological room, a room for a mobile team, and an art therapy room. The center's work aims to address isolated cases and systematically combat domestic violence, gender-based violence, and violence caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
In 2022, Vinnytsia region had 9,730 reported cases of domestic violence:
- From women: 6,658 cases
- From men: 2,676 cases
- From children: 396 cases
Natalia Zabolotna, the First Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration, expressed her gratitude for the support of the UNFPA and the governments of Denmark and Finland, as well as the cooperation and responsibility of Tomashpil community. She emphasized the importance of hearing and providing assistance to combat all forms of violence in society.
