The Security Service conducted a counter-sabotage special operation in Kirovohrad region. As a result of the operation, an FSB agent involved in preparing new Russian airstrikes on the aviation infrastructure in the region was detained. This undercover operative received his task from his Russian "curator," who turned out to be a career FSB officer based in temporarily occupied Crimea. To execute his mission, the Russian agent collected extensive information regarding the technical state of Ukrainian airfields, the presence of combat aircraft, and ammunition depots of the Armed Forces.

Furthermore, the agent attempted to identify the firing positions of the air defense system near Ukrainian aviation facilities. The Russian security service wanted to gather information through their agent regarding the total number of potential targets for air attacks on the region's aviation infrastructure.

It was revealed that the operative received "operational expenses" in cryptocurrency from the FSB. The total sum of received funds amounted to up to 10,000 in the equivalent of Ukrainian hryvnia. In the event of receiving classified information, the occupants planned to use it for subsequent aerial attacks on the Defense Forces infrastructure.

However, the Security Service acted preemptively and detained the foreign operative while he was capturing video footage of a Ukrainian military unit. The agent had a mobile phone, which he used for identifying "necessary" targets and communication with the FSB.

According to the investigation, the detainee is a resident of Kropyvnytskyi, who was recruited by the Russian special service earlier this year due to his anti-Ukrainian posts in one of the pro-Kremlin Telegram channels. He conducted further communication with the aggressor through a messenger, using a special "identification" code before each exchange.

Based on the gathered evidence, the detainee has been informed of his suspicion of committing state treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (state treason committed during wartime). He is currently in custody, and he could face a life sentence.
