He ran into a metal bumper: a child died in an accident in Poltava Oblast

On June 30th, a tragic road accident occurred on the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway near the town of Khorol in the Lubny district of the Poltava region, Ukraine. The driver of a passenger car, a 1981 birth year Citroën Berlingo, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a metal guardrail. As a result of the accident, a minor passenger born in 2008 sustained injuries that led to their tragic death at the scene. The driver, who was born in 1981, also sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Preliminary information suggests that the driver left the roadway and hit the metal guardrail. This incident is being investigated by the police, with procedural guidance from the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office. The case has been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 286, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which relates to violations of road safety rules leading to the death of a victim.

The police are currently working to determine all circumstances and causes of the road accident.
