Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained a former militant from the terrorist organization "DNR" in Vinnytsia. The suspect is a resident of Donetsk, who joined the ranks of the "reconnaissance company" of the "Vostok" group in 2014, controlled by the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces.

In the same year, he actively participated in the seizure of administrative buildings and critical infrastructure objects in the city of Horlivka. Even before the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, the militant decided to leave the ranks of the occupiers and moved to Vinnytsia, where he attempted to hide from justice.

However, SSU agents located him and detained him near the building where he was temporarily residing. They also confiscated his phone, which contained photos of his involvement in combat against Ukrainian forces during the anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk region.

Currently, SSU investigators have informed the suspect of his charges under Article 258-3, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization). The court has ordered him to be held in custody. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The suspect could face up to 15 years in prison.

These comprehensive actions were carried out by SSU agents in Vinnytsia region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office. Additionally, the Dnipropetrovsk and Kryvyi Rih district prosecutor's offices reported suspicions against two individuals related to undermining the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, as well as collaboration activities.
