Sakura trees planted in Vinnytsia in memory of those killed by rocket attack

In Vinnytsia, 29 cherry blossom trees were planted on Victory Square as a memorial to the victims of the enemy missile attack on July 14, 2022.

The planting was carried out by the families of the deceased, symbolizing their remembrance of those lost in the cynical Russian strike.

The families chose the trees and their respective locations during the planting. The Vinnytsia City Council declared July 14 as a day of mourning for the victims of the hostile rocket attack.

In commemoration, a memorial event called "Angels of Memory" is being held. The tragic incident occurred when two "Kalibr" missiles struck the Officers' House located on Victory Square.

The attack resulted in the destruction of the Officers' House, the complete burning of the medical center in the "Yuvileiny" residential building, and the destruction and damage of nearly fifty vehicles.

A total of 29 people, including children, lost their lives in the rocket strikes, and over 200 people were injured.

The city council has plans to create a memorial park at the site of the tragedy, with the concept and design already approved for the renovation of the area.
