Ukraine returns bodies of 62 fallen soldiers

The transfer of the bodies of servicemen who gave their lives for Ukraine has taken place. The bodies of 62 fallen defenders have been successfully returned. This was announced by the Coordination Headquarters for the Affairs of Prisoners of War.

The repatriation of the bodies from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine was facilitated by the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Centre of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Directorate for Civil-Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other law enforcement bodies, departments and international organisations.

The HRC also reported that the process of repatriating the bodies of deceased Ukrainian soldiers is ongoing and is being conducted in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Conventions.

In addition, the Coordination Headquarters reminded that the hotline of the Commissioner for Missing Persons is available at 0-800-339-247.

It should be noted that Russian forces launched drone attacks on Ukraine during the night, with one strike targeting the Dnipropetrovsk region.
