On July 13, around 11:00 PM, in Odessa, a man disregarded the prohibition on using pyrotechnic devices during the period of martial law and set off fireworks, causing fear among many people in the city. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Odessa region.

The man launched fireworks in the courtyard of a multi-story building on Akademika Halushky Street.

Law enforcement officers interviewed witnesses and identified the perpetrator. The man was caught at the scene and refused to provide any explanations for disregarding the established prohibitions. During the examination of the scene, the police confiscated remnants of the used pyrotechnic device.

Oleh Zoshchuk, the head of the investigative department of Police Division No. 4 of the Odessa District Police Division No. 1, stated that law enforcement authorities have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, and the investigators have initiated proceedings under Article 296, Part 1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the question of notifying the suspect of the charges is being resolved. He may face a penalty ranging from one to two thousand untaxed minimum incomes, which amounts to 17,000 to 34,000 hryvnias, or arrest for a term of up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to five years.
