On July 14, as part of the "Vinnytsians are Important" initiative, they began providing humanitarian assistance to the families of Vinnytsia residents who are registered with the Department of Social Policy and have children with disabilities. This was reported by the Vinnytsia City Council.
Natalia Palamarchuk, the First Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy, explained that there are currently around 1,800 such families registered with the department.
"Today, we are providing support to another category of vulnerable individuals, the families of Vinnytsia residents who are registered with the department and have children with disabilities. Support is provided in the form of a food package, which includes 3 kg of pasta and 5 bottles of sunflower oil. In addition, the Department of Social Policy has provided assistance to the families of deceased Defenders and Protectors of Ukraine, large families, families of guardians and caregivers of children deprived of parental care, as well as assistance to pensioners with low income who are registered with our territorial center. We continue to provide support to the families of our Defenders and Protectors," said Natalia Palamarchuk.
One Vinnytsia resident, Anna, who is raising a daughter with a disability, came to receive municipal assistance.
"We have a large family because we live with our parents. Altogether, there are six of us, so this assistance is really significant in order to save our family budget. For example, this assistance will last us for several months," Anna confessed.
On July 14, more than 200 Vinnytsia residents received food packages.
The Department of Social Policy emphasized that its employees call families and invite them to receive assistance at a convenient time. During the assistance distribution, individuals are required to present their passport or another document confirming their identity.
