Russian occupation forces attacked Odessa during the night using missiles such as "Kalibr," "Onyx," X-22, and Shahed-type drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down all 12 "Shahed" drones and two "Kalibr" missiles. Unfortunately, they couldn't intercept the supersonic X-22 and "Onyx" missiles. Strikes hit the city center of Odessa, causing destruction and fires.
A young man born in 2002, who was a security guard of a civilian building, lost his life as a result of the missile strike. This was reported by Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
Oleg Kiper later added that eight people were injured as a result of the nighttime attack in Odessa, including three State Emergency Service workers. Three injured individuals were hospitalized, including one rescuer. The people sustained shrapnel wounds and smoke inhalation.
The head of the Regional State Administration emphasized that the enemy targeted grain export ports and caused damage to the port infrastructure. Civilian infrastructure was also hit, including an administrative building and several residential buildings. It was later reported that the building of the Consulate of the People's Republic of China was also damaged.
Recall that overnight, Russian terrorists launched a massive attack on the Odessa region with dozens of missiles and drones.
During the attack, Russian occupiers used missiles such as "Onyx," X-59, and X-22. Simultaneously with the missiles, Iranian-made "Shahed-136" drones were launched in the region, parallelly causing significant damage to an industrial site in the Odessa region. Storage facilities containing fireworks and tobacco were affected, resulting in a fire covering an area of over 3,000 square meters.
