A Frenchman accidentally kayaked across the Ukrainian border

Ukrainian border guards detected an unusual border violator on the Danube River. According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service, a 43-year-old French citizen entered the waters of the port in the Odessa region on his two-seater kayak.

The traveler stated that he had lost his orientation and unintentionally crossed the state border of Ukraine.

The man explained that he started his journey from the German city of Leimen and planned to reach the Black Sea through the Tulchyn mouth.

The Frenchman's entire journey lasted for 51 days during which he periodically docked at the shores of various Eurozone countries to replenish his provisions.

The employees of the State Border Guard Service processed administrative proceedings against the French citizen. After the case is considered in court, the foreigner will be handed over to the Romanian side through readmission.
