Bowing their heads in grief, the residents of Vinnytsia bid farewell to Ivan Dzem, who remained faithful to his military oath and defended his homeland until his last breath as he is laid to rest in his final resting place.
As reported by the Vinnytsia City Council, Ivan Vasiliovich joined the military ranks in January 2023. He served as a senior soldier in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He tragically lost his life while performing a combat mission on the outskirts of the fortress city of Bakhmut on May 21. He leaves behind a legacy at the age of 58.
Ivan Dzem loved life, adored his two charming daughters, and was known for his exceptional care and diligence. For over 35 years, he operated a trolleybus and provided reliable transportation services along Vinnytsia's routes. He was highly regarded by his colleagues for his strong character, professionalism, kind heart, and sensitivity. He was known for his ability to support and mentor his younger coworkers.
The farewell ceremony for Ivan Dzem will begin at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, located at Vinnytske Khutory, Pokrovska Street, 2A.
The soldier will be laid to rest around 3:00 PM at the Alley of Glory in the Sabariv cemetery.
