Poltava region's tax authorities complicit in state budget looting

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations reported suspicion to the management and employees of the State Tax Service in the Poltava region. This was announced by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations.

It was established that these officials, abusing their official positions, created a criminal organization and systematically implemented multi-stage corrupt schemes, allowing local traders to avoid tax payments.

In one of the episodes, tax service employees initiated an unscheduled inspection of one of the enterprises in Poltava. As a result of this inspection, tax officials drafted a report that included a lowered amount of paid taxes.

Subsequently, the tax officials sent a tax notification to the company with a reduced tax amount. Due to such manipulations, the company did not pay nearly 1.3 million hryvnias in taxes to the budget.

Seven participants of the criminal scheme are suspected of receiving unlawful benefits, using their official positions contrary to the interests of the service, aiding in the preparation of false documents, and providing false information in the documents.

They face a punishment of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
