A man who kicked and mocked a 5-year-old boy was convicted in Odesa.

A resident of Odessa has been found guilty of torturing a minor child, according to prosecutors from the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office. The man was sentenced to seven years and six months of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, the man, who had previous criminal convictions, tortured his partner's 5-year-old son from mid-July to early August 2020. He used intimidation and physical violence against the child.

The convicted stepfather allegedly used a leather belt with a metal buckle to beat the child. He also forced the child to stand in a corner for extended periods every two to three days, sometimes leaving him there overnight. As a result, the child was forced to sleep on the floor.

Additionally, the man kicked the boy and, when irritated, threw him onto the floor, causing the child to lose consciousness and experience seizures. To revive the child, he was taken to the bathroom and doused with cold water.

As a result of this abuse, the child suffered a concussion and multiple head hematomas.

It's important to note that two individuals who supported the Russian army were arrested in Kryvyi Rih.
