Dnipro is the first city in Ukraine where the dispatching of the entire public transport system is managed from a single operational-dispatch center. This was announced by the Dnipro City Council.
This center receives information about 127 city routes, including 35 electric transport routes and the rest being bus routes. This allows passengers to track the movement of public transport in real-time using the "D-transport" mobile application, saving them time at the bus stops.
"This application is free, ad-free, and available for both Android and iPhone smartphones. Every resident of Dnipro can track the real-time movement of the public transport they are interested in and provide feedback, whether it's complaints or suggestions. We react promptly and try to implement changes quickly," said Oleg Klevtsov, Chief of the Operational-Dispatch Center at KP "Dnipro Electric Transport" of the Dnipro City Council.
The application offers flexible settings, such as making stop markers more prominent. In the next update, it will include the ability to check whether a particular route has air conditioning.
"Besides tracking the movement of all public transport in Dnipro, which includes nearly 1000 vehicles, we can also see our emergency response teams. This is helpful in our work. If necessary, we can promptly send a team to the scene of an incident, and the response time will be reduced," added Daria Polyakova, Deputy Chief of the Operational-Dispatch Center at KP "Dnipro Electric Transport" of the Dnipro City Council.
The 24/7 dispatch center enables the prompt communication of changes in public transport routes to passengers.
