The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a corrupt employee of the Myrhorod Center for Conscription and Social Support in Poltava Oblast. The suspect was involved in taking bribes in exchange for helping men evade military service. According to the SBU press service in Poltava Oblast, he provided them with documents that allowed them to cross the Ukrainian state border without hindrance.
SBU and National Police officers caught the official "red-handed" while he was delivering a previously paid fictitious certificate to his client. The investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with other employees from the Myrhorod and Lubny territorial centers for conscription and social support in Poltava Oblast. They helped him find clients and prepared documents that allowed men to leave the country.
Initially, the clients were helped to obtain a military medical commission conclusion stating their unfitness for military service with a fake diagnosis, and later they were removed from military records altogether.
It was found that the official had previously assisted acquaintances in avoiding mobilization. During searches at the suspect's residence, workplace, and several district military commissariats, law enforcement officers found documents confirming the illegal activity. They also discovered a significant amount of cash, including the money received from clients, and several dozen packages of documents related to potential evaders.
The investigation is ongoing to identify all participants in the unlawful scheme and bring them to justice. Currently, the suspect is being prepared for indictment under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine). The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
