Ukraine has successfully managed to release an additional 22 Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity. This was reported by the Coordinating Headquarters for Prisoner-of-War Affairs.
Thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian side, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including two officers and servicemen of lower ranks, have regained their freedom. The released soldiers had been involved in combat on various frontlines.
The age of the freed servicemembers ranges from 23 to 54 years old. Among the rescued defenders, there are individuals who have suffered injuries or illnesses.
All of the liberated soldiers will undergo physical and psychological rehabilitation, reintegration programs, and receive necessary medical treatment with the support of healthcare professionals.
Immediately following the exchange, the freed soldiers will receive essential supplies and means of communication to reconnect with their families.
In addition, it was reported that in Poltava region, a criminal group attempted to bribe an officer of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) to turn a blind eye to their illegal business. The criminals were involved in illegal logging in the Myrhorodskyi district, starting their activities in the fall of 2022. These wrongdoers face imprisonment for a term of five to ten years, with certain restrictions on holding positions and property confiscation.
