On the night of August 6, the Russian Federation launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. During this rocket terror over Cherkasy region, a Russian missile was intercepted. The head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Igor Taburets, reported this information.

"It's been a continuous day of air alarms: another missile and drone terror on our country. In Cherkasy region, our air defense forces intercepted a Russian missile last night. There were no casualties or damage. The missile debris fell into the water," said Igor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

In total, on August 5-6, the air defense forces shot down 13 X-101/X-555 missiles, 17 "Caliber" cruise missiles, and 27 Iranian "Shahed-136/131" attack drones. This information was provided by the Ukrainian Air Force.

During the first wave of the attack on the evening of August 5, the enemy used 14 sea-based "Caliber" cruise missiles and three air-launched hypersonic missiles "X-47 Kinzhal." Twelve out of 14 "Calibers" were successfully intercepted by air defense. There is no information available regarding the "Kinzhal" missiles.

During the night of August 6, the enemy continued its attacks using "Shahed-136/131" attack drones from the southeast direction, "Caliber" cruise missiles from the Black Sea, and "X-101/X-555" cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the Caspian Sea area.

In total, within a few minutes during the evening of August 5 through the morning of August 6, 2023, the enemy employed 70 aerial attack assets.
