Almost four million tulips bloomed in the Kropyvnytskyi Arboretum

In the Kropyvnytskyi dendro park, three million nine hundred thousand tulips have blossomed. This year, designers created 12 thematic compositions, using over a hundred varieties of tulips. During the flowering season, hundreds of tourists from different parts of the country travel to Kropyvnytskyi to take bright photos and enjoy the beauty of the flowers.

Compared to 2022, there are 700,000 more tulips in the dendro park this year. This was reported by the park's public relations manager, Irina Maslyukova. According to her, the main theme uniting all the compositions on the central alleys this year is "Creative Ukraine."

Back in the early 2000s, the dendro park was in a state of neglect. Reflecting on how to restore the park area and what unique feature to add, they settled on tulips. They began planting tulip bulbs imported from the Netherlands 15 years ago. Tulip varieties differ in flowering times, so the flowers are planted in such a way that when one batch of tulips finishes blooming, another batch starts. Therefore, the patterns created with early tulips change into patterns made with later-blooming flowers. When the last late-blooming tulip varieties finish flowering, the flower beds are not left empty. Other flowers, equally beautiful, bloom in the summer. This season, almost four million flowers are in bloom. This place is now positioned as the "Tulip Park in the Heart of Ukraine" or even referred to as "Holland in Ukraine."

The flower compositions in the park are changed every year, and they try to select tulips of different sizes, colors, and shapes so that each flower bed is unique. The graphic designer designs each flower bed, and in the summer, they approve and discuss the design, calculating the number of flowers needed for each flower bed. Every year in the fall, they go shopping in the Netherlands, and every flower and bulb is carefully counted.

On 20 flower beds, 150 varieties of tulips grow, and thematic compositions were created on the central alley. The tulips will be in bloom until the end of May, according to the park's public relations manager.

Tourists from various parts of Ukraine come to the park to admire its beauty, and locals visit it regularly. Igor Delyurman, a resident of Kropyvnytskyi who lives nearby, noted that he sees all the changes in the flower compositions every year: "The impressions are bright every year. It's an ornament of our city."

"Everyone's thoughts are at home. I call, and they call me – they tell me what's going on. I want to come back every day. I came to the park with my soul and body to relax, to forget about something for a while," said Zinaida Skrypnyk, a displaced person from Dobropillia, Donetsk region, who hasn't visited the park for half a year since living in Kropyvnytskyi.

Olena Pohrebniak visited the dendro park for the first time. She decided to take beautiful photos against the backdrop of the tulip compositions. "We went to the city of Kropyvnytskyi, and I was there for the first time, such an old (it seemed to me) city, so cozy and warm, reminded me of Mykolaiv, I don't even know why. Oh, how much we liked the Dendropark, and tulips, they are my favorite flowers, incredibly beautiful. And there were so many entertainments, concerts. And the atmosphere of the road, the trip itself, was just a pleasure. I wish I could stay there and walk for a day," she said.
