Nearly 100 orphaned children from Odesa, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kryvyi Rih have traveled to Turkey. They were assisted by the charitable foundation of Ruslan Shostak, which provided shelter for over 350 people in July alone. This group includes children from family-type orphanages accompanied by guardians, as well as orphans who were living with elderly grandparents unable to take them to a safe place. Since the start of the full-scale war, the Ruslan Shostak Foundation has organized shelter for more than three thousand orphaned children and their caregivers.
Olya Polyakova, a popular Ukrainian singer and ambassador for the "Childhood Without War" project, accompanied the children to Turkey. The "Childhood Without War" project ensures that the children receive proper nutrition, psychological support, and medical insurance. The Ukrainian children will stay in comfortable hotels located on the seaside and will receive schooling as well as participate in games and workshops.
"We are grateful for the social initiatives being implemented today by the Charitable Foundation of Ruslan Shostak. It's wonderful that orphaned children have the opportunity to rest by the sea in Turkey without the sounds of explosions and air raid alarms. After all, children are our future, and it's for them that we live, fight, and will certainly win," noted Roman Hryhorishyn, Deputy Chief of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
