In Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August 14th to 19th, the World Deaf Swimming Championships are taking place for athletes with hearing impairments. Ukraine is being represented in the official competition by athletes from the national deaflympic team, Irina Tereshchenko and Daria Tarasenko, who are both students of the Kropyvnytskyi Children and Youth Sports School No. 1.

On the third day of the competition, the athletes from Kropyvnytskyi added new medals to their collection. Irina Tereshchenko won a gold medal and the title of world champion in the individual 100m breaststroke event. Additionally, in the 4x100m medley relay, Irina Tereshchenko and Daria Tarasenko, as part of the Ukrainian team, also secured gold medals.

Congratulations to the athletes from Kropyvnytskyi and their coach, Honored Coach of Ukraine Olena Kuznitsova, on their successful performances at the World Championships.

It's worth noting that last week, two representatives from Poltava won bronze medals at the World Bowling Championships for athletes with hearing impairments held in Munich, Germany, from August 1st to 12th. Yana Prychina and Katerina Kovalchuk, as part of the Ukrainian national team, achieved third place in the team standings.
