In accordance with the Law "On Condemnation and Prohibition of Propaganda of Russian Imperial Policy in Ukraine and Decolonization of Toponymy," a monument celebrating Alexander Pushkin was dismantled in Lubny.

As reported by the secretary of the Lubny City Council, Margarita Komarova, the dismantling was carried out by the communal services of the community in order to comply with the collegial decision of the thirtieth session of the eighth convocation of the Lubny City Council "On organizational and legal measures to remove/relocate the memorial sign to the Russian Alexander Pushkin from the public space of Lubny."

In this document, it is stated that the sign dedicated to A. Pushkin is a symbol that reflects imperial Russian historical narratives. According to Komarova, this object was dismantled by the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Lubny City Council.

"The communal services relocated the Russian imperial marker from the public space of Lubny to temporary storage on the territory of the local communal housing and utilities management," she informed.

"The de-Pushkinization of Poltava region is coming to an end. This is the last structure honoring Pushkin in the Poltava region. Similar monuments were dismantled in Kremenchuk, the village of Bilenchenkivka in Hadyach community, and in the regional center this year. Ahead, there is the renaming of Pushkin Street in Poltava and 17 other communities in the region. Until recently, there were 120 toponymy objects in Poltava region, but most of them were renamed after the full-scale invasion of Russian Pushkinists," said Oleg Pustovgar, a representative of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance in Poltava region.
