Law enforcement officers in Odessa Oblast have arrested the leader of a public organization who was involved in receiving a bribe of $8,000 USD.

According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odessa Oblast, investigators from the Strategic Investigations Department and the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police detained the leader of the public organization. He was assisting citizens in avoiding conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For his services, he demanded $8,000 USD.

In exchange for this amount, he was supposed to influence authorized individuals at one of the district territorial centers for enlistment and social support to have a conscript removed from military registration based on their health condition and to forge the necessary documents. The individual has been detained and informed of the suspicion against him.

The issue of applying preventive measures is currently under consideration.

The criminal investigation is being conducted under articles 369-2 (Abuse of Influence) and 332 (Illegal Transportation of Persons Across the State Border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
