In Dnipropetrovs'k region, a man was looking for four people for UAH 2.5 million

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a 42-year-old man, pretending to be a reliable business partner, offered wholesale trade services for household goods to victims. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the man devised a fraudulent scheme. Posing as an entrepreneur with years of experience, he defrauded people of nearly 2.5 million hryvnias.

The criminal informed the victims that he was engaged in wholesale buying and selling of household appliances. He promised to purchase the goods at prices significantly lower than market rates. He claimed that he could buy such equipment through his foreign business partners.

After receiving the money, the man stopped communicating with the victims. Three local residents fell victim to the scammer's actions.

Investigators have informed the offender of the suspicion under Article 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty prescribed by the article is up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The Dnipro police emphasize the importance of verifying reviews about products and sellers on the Internet. Verify the phone numbers provided in advertisements through internet search engines. It is possible that someone has already fallen victim to the scam and is warning others about it.
