On May 16th, in Poltava, the McDonald's restaurant located at 187a European Street will reopen. The opening time is 9:00 AM. Additionally, tomorrow, the McDonald's restaurant in Kremenchuk will also resume its operation.

Before the reopening, preparations were made, including repairing the pavement and cleaning the surrounding area.

The decision to reopen was made considering the security situation in the region, as Poltava is closer to the conflict zone.

The restaurant will have procedures in place for air raid alerts, and during such alerts, the restaurant will close, and all employees will take shelter nearby in a building close to the nearest underground passage on European Street.

After the "all-clear" signal is given, the restaurant will resume operations within 30 minutes.

It's worth noting that McDonald's had closed all its restaurants in Ukraine when Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

On March 8, it was announced that McDonald's and KFC were suspending their operations in Russia.

On May 16, McDonald's decided to completely exit Russia and sell its business there, stating that continuing operations in Russia did not align with its values.

As a result, McDonald's expects to incur costs of around $1.2-1.4 billion as it exits Russia.

In Moscow and the Moscow region, 15 former McDonald's fast-food restaurants were reopened on June 12 under a new brand, "Вкусно и точка" ("Delicious and Point"). On September 11, McDonald's announced that Ukrainian restaurants would reopen gradually, starting with locations in Kyiv and western Ukraine.
