In Odessa, a group has been organized that illegally appropriated state and private property totaling over 13 million hryvnias. Among the participants are officials from one of the district courts in the city.
On May 15, this was reported by the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) in the Odessa region.
According to the investigation, the organizers of the scheme, including officials from one of the district courts in Odessa, established an illegal scheme for seizing real estate, state, and private property. The individuals, based on nonexistent court decisions, provided false information to the State Register of Court Decisions for the unlawful alienation of real estate.
Specifically, they misappropriated state property worth over 9.7 million hryvnias and private property worth nearly 3 million hryvnias. To carry out this scheme, they used corrupt connections within relevant government institutions.
During 40 searches at the residences and workplaces of the individuals involved, law enforcement officers seized copies of forged documents, a seal from one of the district courts, keys to several misappropriated apartments, and other materials with evidence of the scheme. Direct evidence of forging a court decision, under which state property was misappropriated, was also obtained.
Currently, the organizers of the scheme and four other individuals have been notified of suspicion under Article 190, Part 3, and Article 358, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigative actions are ongoing to hold other individuals involved in the scheme accountable.
