The State Investigation Bureau is conducting searches at a number of military medical commissions in the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Kyiv regions. This is in connection with a criminal investigation into cases where military servicemen in leadership positions in regional and district military enlistment offices allegedly unlawfully profited.
In total, the State Investigation Bureau has identified 388 individuals suspected of being involved in the aforementioned criminal offense. Currently, the Bureau has seized medical documentation that could confirm that military enlistment office employees made decisions regarding a person's military service suitability in exchange for bribes.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under various articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, including Article 426-1, Part 5 (abuse of power or official authority by a military serviceman in wartime).
Additionally, the State Investigation Bureau reported that at the end of last week, they conducted 15 searches in military enlistment offices and military registration offices in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, as well as in the Kherson region and Berislavsky district. These offices are being investigated for possible corrupt practices by personnel during general mobilization.
As a result of the checks, suspicions have been reported to three officials from military enlistment offices.
