In Vinnytsia, a local history museum has opened an exhibition titled "Come Back Alive. I'm Waiting for You." This exhibition features 15 photographs of the wives of Ukrainian defenders who are currently protecting our country from the Russian enemy. All the photos were taken in 2022. The locations for the photos were chosen by the participants themselves, and the photoshoots were done free of charge. In total, 12 photoshoots were conducted.
"I suggested to the girls to choose a location where their favorite place with their husbands was. It could be a cafe, a park, or a lake, and that's where we conducted the photoshoots. The photos are meant to convey the essence that these women are waiting for their husbands," said photographer Alina Dyka.
One of the participants in the photoshoot was Olena Kochubey. She came to the exhibition with her one-year-old daughter. Olena's husband has been defending our country from the Russians since the early days of the full-scale war.
"My photoshoot, as it turned out, was in the dry autumn. I love it. With yellow leaves, I look at the photo with pleasure, and my husband is very happy. This photo is on his phone's screensaver," said Olena Kochubey, the wife of a serviceman.
"I am amazed by Dyka's work; they are very sensitive. These photos are about love, support, and dedication," said exhibition visitor Victoria.
The exhibition will run until October 2023 in the lobby of the local history museum, and admission is free. Visitors also have the option to make a donation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces if they wish.
