On Friday, August 25th, Russian occupiers launched two attacks on the Odessa region during the night. In total, the enemy fired 4 missiles.
The occupiers carried out two waves of attacks, but the air defense forces demonstrated a one hundred percent effectiveness and destroyed all the missiles. This information was reported by the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
At midnight, the enemy used tactical aviation. From the Black Sea waters, the occupiers launched 2 missiles, likely X-35 and X-59 missiles, as reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, on his social media page.
According to the official, the Russians attempted to attack the port. Fortunately, the air defense forces shot down the enemy missiles.
A few hours later, Russia attacked again, this time from the waters of the Azov Sea. Towards the regional center, the Russians launched 2 "Kalibr" missiles. The air defense forces also destroyed them, and there were no hits.
The "Kalibr" is a highly precise Russian-made naval missile used by the Russian Federation. It has a flight range of up to 2,500 km, depending on the specific modification, and can be launched from various types of military vessels, including ships, submarines, and missile-carrying ships. The "Kalibr" has high strike accuracy, maneuverability, and the ability to evade air defense systems, making it difficult to detect and destroy. It can be used to target surface objects such as air defense installations, command centers, bunkers, as well as ships and other military facilities located at a considerable distance from the coast.
