In the Kirovohrad region, African swine fever has been detected within the territory of the Novhorodkivska territorial community. The affected animals were found in the village of Verkhliuzka on the private farm 'Harant.'
The head of the Kropyvnytskyi district military administration, Vitaliy Pastushenko, reported this information. The territory of the private enterprise 'Harant' has been declared an epizootic outbreak of African swine fever. This decision was made during a meeting of the local emergency anti-epizootic commission at the district administration. "A quarantine has been established on the territory, and protective and observation zones have been defined," Vitaliy Pastushenko said.
The protective zone includes the streets of Zadniprovanoho, Lesi Ukrainky, and Khutirska in the village of Verkhliuzka. The observation zone includes the rest of Verkhliuzka and ten surrounding villages: Kutsivka, Prostore, Vasylivka, Bilozerne, Dubrovyno, Ruchaiky, Velyka Chechelivka, Bilopil, Nahorne, and Sotnytske. All of them are within the Kropyvnytskyi district.
Vitaliy Pastushenko mentioned that around 8:00 PM on May 9, they would begin burning the diseased pigs. He emphasized that it's important for residents not to worry, as the flames would reach a height of up to 30 meters.
According to Vitaliy Pastushenko, the situation is being monitored by rescuers and the police.
