In Poltava, the center for rehabilitation medicine has received a verticalizer-balancer, which was purchased with funds from donors from UNITED24. Now, using this new exercise machine, the center's specialists will be able to more effectively assist patients with serious spinal conditions or injuries. In just the first month of operation, 12 patients have already undergone rehabilitation on this equipment. This was reported by the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

Roman Lytvynov, a physiotherapist and occupational therapist at the Poltava Regional Sklifosovsky Hospital, compares the verticalizer-balancer to the old exercise machines and notes its functionality. With the help of this equipment, it is possible to literally lift people who cannot move their lower limbs. In essence, thanks to this new device, they learn to stand and walk again.

"We are developing physical qualities such as strength, agility, and coordination in patients, and there are principles for developing these physical skills. These include regularity, consistency, and sequence. That's why we work with these patients on the exercise machine every day," explains Roman Lytvynov.

Additionally, Poltava Region recently received another batch of aid for internally displaced persons from UNICEF. This includes more than 1,300 hygiene kits for mothers and children, as well as over 800 packs of diapers. Each hygiene kit contains laundry detergent, water purification capsules, soap, and women's hygiene products.

The received aid is planned to be distributed among communities in the region according to their specific requests.

Recall that earlier in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Norwegian partners who provide equipment and supplies to rescuers and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were thanked.
