On August 29th, in the city of Poltava, a solemn ceremony was held to hand over the keys to new school buses that will transport students to various communities in the region. This was announced by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, on his Telegram channel.

This year, educational institutions in the Poltava region will receive 33 new school buses: seven of them were handed over today, another thirteen will receive them in September, and the remaining thirteen in October.

During today's ceremony, the keys to school buses were presented to the following individuals:

Iryna Ishchenko, Director of the Veprytske Support Lyceum of the Velykobudyschanska Village Council;

Vasyl Kvitka, Director of the Petrivtsi Gymnasium of the Myrhorod City Council;

Liudmyla Simachenko, Director of the Dykanska Comprehensive Secondary School I-III levels of the Dykanska Village Council;

Tetiana Likhtei, Director of the Radyvonivske Comprehensive Secondary School I-III levels of the Velykobahachanska Village Council;

Svitlana Borovyk, Director of the M.V. Zerov Zinkiv Lyceum of the Zinkiv City Council;

Mykhailo Prokopenko, Director of the Berezovorudske Comprehensive Secondary School I-III levels of the Pyriatyn City Council;

Yuliia Lytvyn, Director of the Pokrovske Support Educational Institution of General Secondary Education I-III levels of the Reshetylivska City Council.

During the handover, Dmytro Lunin emphasized that despite the ongoing war, the state continues to do everything possible to support Ukrainian education. In particular, it continues to purchase school buses for those institutions in need.


Alexander Bilenky, Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council, added that regional council members are ready to provide co-funding from the regional budget to ensure that educational institutions in the region have the necessary transportation for students.


Previously, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, fourteen buses were handed over to schools by French partners.
