In the Odessa region, two brothers have been arrested on suspicion of establishing a drug laboratory. According to law enforcement officials, their intentions included producing 20 kilograms of synthetic drugs for further distribution within the region, including in the Odessa correctional facility. This information was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region on August 23.
According to the investigation, the brothers organized the production and sale of narcotics in a non-residential premises. During the search, authorities confiscated 7.5 kilograms of the narcotic substance "a-PvP," more than 120 liters of narcotic solution in free form, approximately 200 liters of chemical compounds, as well as equipment for drug production.
Furthermore, the brothers had planned to manufacture 20 kilograms of synthetic drugs, the total value of which was estimated at 14 million hryvnias.
The arrested individuals are 49 and 56 years old and reside in the Rozdilnyansky district of the Odessa region. According to law enforcement agencies, both brothers had prior legal issues related to theft and car theft. They were also associated with a 17-year-old son of one of the arrested individuals and a 25-year-old acquaintance who is currently in custody on suspicion of drug trafficking in Odessa.
The accused brothers have been charged in accordance with Article 307, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For this offense, they could face imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with property confiscation.
